WebMiel is a french software (soon internationalized). Miel means Honey
in French. It embodies the aim of WebMiel to be a hive for informations and
people who make it.
WebMiel is a novator software for classification of data over Internet.
It organise data for workgroups allowing incremental documentations and file of
any kind.

In a few words, let's have an analogy :
|
WebMiel manages a library, say a
domain.
This library or domain has shelves, or plane or directory.
In each plane are stored books or cells.
A cell may contain :

a summary or hyper-text;

a decriptive form;
-
the cell body or the book itself as afile.
So WebMiel shapes the information as a library.

WebMiel's display acts as a new generation of visual tools for old text
representation.

WebMiel allows graphical browsing with three data levels.
Each level define its own shape in a window part.
From the global level to the more detailed here is the structure :

Tree of planes : a WebMiel domain is made of a tree of planes.
In the upper left part it activate a comb when a plane is selected.

Plane of cells : each plane is mapped as a honey comb with hexagonal cells,
A cell may contain various data. If it is empty, the user can fill it with his
own data, very easily.
The upper right part allows a glimpse to the cells. A clic on one of it
displays the detail of the cell.

Form and hyper-text : at the cell level, form and hyper-text are shown in the bottom of the window.
The form may contain a specific button in order to send a file to the user,
previously given by the writer of the cell.

reactivity : moderation principle

When access control is not used, an interactive system needs checking
anonymous information before publication : WebMiel redirect inputs in empty
cells to moderators who are in charge to examinate and validate data.

Knowledge management
|
|
Knowledge Management is a main task in Internet. The cell organisation
eases reading but interactive editing and moderation makes WebMiel a must for
workgroup.

File managment
|
|
WebMiel is a valueable candidate for replacing ftp sites : the files are
described and upload is easy and well integrated with moderation.
Any registered user can give his own files but more over he can moderate his
own set of planes.

Access Control

The access control allows a secure multi-users filesystem for
people and organisation whose need to exchange information is enormous.

Searching tool
|

The WebMiel searching tool give local searching ability tailored to the form
description of cells.

WebMiel2 is for the moment in a french version.
